Oases and Sahara is a private tour of Southern Tunisia showcasing a land noted for its dramatic desert-scapes, wide expanses of glistening salt pans, astonishing Berber architecture, Eden-like oases, and rippling dunes of the Sahara. A holiday to southern Tunisia will also take you along a road less travelled with exciting opportunities for adventure. Starting in Tunis, you will visit one of the finest medinas in the Arab world before strolling through the picturesque whitewashed village of Sidi Bou Said.

Begin your visit to southern Tunisia by flying south to the sun-kissed island known as the ‘land of dreams’ in Homer’s Odyssey – Djerba. From Djerba, you will continue to the regions of Tataouine and Matmata to discover their incredible landscapes, complete with troglodytic houses, Berber villages and curious fortified granaries. Heading into the Sahara desert, experience a memorable night in a comfortable desert camp in the heart of the captivating terrain known as the Grand Erg Oriental.

The final leg of your journey will take you across the immense salt pan of the Chott el Djerid to the oasis of Tozeur, where you will spend a relaxing couple of days discovering the best of what this region has to offer, including world-class desert scenery, breathtaking film locations and stunning mountain oases.
