Tour Overview
CAIRO • PYRAMIDS • LUXOR • 7 NIGHT NILE CRUISE • ASWAN • EDFU • KOM OMBO
Passage through Egypt combines a leisurely seven-night Nile cruise – aboard either the upscale M/S Acamar or the luxury all-suite Sonesta Sun Goddess – with Cairo to reveal five thousand years of Egyptian history.
The ideal Egypt holiday if you are looking for a longer river journey; a seven-night Nile cruise visits virtually the same sites as cruises with shorter durations but gives you much more time to sail through the exotic spellbinding scenery of Upper Egypt. This tour begins in Cairo, where you will stay at the Mena House Hotel in the shadow of the Great Pyramid of Giza. While in the Egyptian capital, your privately guided sightseeing will include the pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum, where you will behold the golden treasure of Tutankhamun.
Fly south to Luxor and board your comfortable floating home. As your seven-night Nile cruise gets underway, there will be shared excursions led by your onboard Egyptologist to the astonishing temples and tombs of the pharaohs that line the Nile between Luxor and Aswan. Memories of glorious sunsets and the scenic palm-lined banks of the Nile will mingle with special meals on the deck and the pleasures of a refreshing cocktail at the bar.
There will also be time to relax on the shaded sundeck in the warm Egyptian sun, take a dip in the onboard pool, chat with new friends, and enjoy the nightly entertainment. A belly dance performance, Nubian show, fancy dress party, and an ‘Egyptian night’ add considerably to the onboard fun and, when combined with the Nile’s scenic beauty and jaw-dropping ancient history, is why the Passage through Egypt holiday is such a perennial favourite.
