Tour Overview
KATHMANDU • BANDIPUR • POKHARA • CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK • LHASA • DHULIKHEL
Our Nepal and Lhasa tour is an epic journey to the Roof of the World that showcases two distinct mystical Himalayan nations. This private tour offers a superb introduction to the culture of the Himalaya, combining Nepal’s historic cities, lush sub-tropical jungles and charming hilltop towns with the ‘forbidden city’ of Lhasa on the vast Trans-Himalayan Tibetan plateau.
Begin your Nepal and Lhasa tour with immersive sightseeing in the former royal cities of Patan and Kathmandu before experiencing traditional Newari culture in the quaint mountain town of Bandipur. Then, travel north to the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara, where you will enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Phewa Lake and set off on a scenic walk through the foothills of the Annapurnas. This is an easy day hike that offers outstanding views of the towering peaks of the Annapurna mountain range and provides an insight into the lifestyle of the locals. Next, embark on thrilling jeep and boat safaris in search of the endangered one-horned rhinoceros before returning to Kathmandu.
A short scenic flight over the Himalaya will bring you to Lhasa, the beating heart of Tibet. During your time in Lhasa, visit the Dalai Lama’s iconic Potala Palace, circumambulate the sacred Jokhang Temple alongside Buddhist pilgrims, witness young monks debate the Buddha’s teachings passionately at Sera monastery, complete the Ganden Kora, which offers outstanding views of the Kyi-Chu Valley, and explore the bustling Barkhor bazaar.
Conclude your Nepal and Lhasa tour with two nights at the delightful hill station of Dhulikhel and a visit to Bhaktapur’s timeless Durbar Square.

In the afternoon, join the kora and circumambulate the sacred Swayambunath Shrine, visit the Bodhnath Stupa, one of the world’s oldest monasteries and conclude your day’s explorations with a visit to the Pashupatinath Temple Complex, where you will have the chance to witness the lively ‘aarti’ ceremony.

A morning’s drive will bring you to the medieval hilltop town of Bandipur, which was once an important hub along the trade route to Tibet. This afternoon, explore this delightful old Newari town, which seems caught in a time warp.
