Tour Overview
JERASH • PETRA • WADI RUM • DEAD SEA • MAR SABA • BETHLEHEM • JERUSALEM
The Jordan to Jerusalem tour is a private journey uniting the historic lands on both sides of the River Jordan – territories that Christianity, Islam and Judaism all revere as the Holy Land.
In doing so, the Jordan to Jerusalem tour creates a fascinating and superbly balanced Near East itinerary that combines both the desert and the sown. As the journey unfolds, you’ll explore Wadi Rum’s incredible ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ desertscape by jeep, gaze on the barren hills of the Judean desert and spend a day relaxing by the glittering shores of the Dead Sea – the lowest dry point on Earth.
While the scenery is breathtaking, the historical and cultural experiences are trump cards on the Jordan to Jerusalem tour. Your sightseeing will start at Jerash, a site that is considered to be one of the finest Roman cities in the Middle East, then continues to Petra, the magical ‘lost’ capital of the Nabataean Arabs and is held to be one of the greatest survivals from the ancient world.
The Jordan to Jerusalem tour’s cultural crescendo then draws close on arrival at Bethlehem, where you’ll visit the Church of the Nativity before finally hitting its high note in the Eternal City of Jerusalem.

Day 2 Jerash, arrive in Petra

Sapphire: Grand Mercure Petra (Superior Room)
Diamond: Movenpick Petra (Junior Suite)
Day 3 Petra and Petra by Candlelight
A full day to discover the rock-hewn ruins of ancient Petra, Jordan’s foremost tourist attraction. Once the capital of the Nabataean Arabs, who controlled the lucrative trade routes between Arabia and the Mediterranean coast, Petra or ‘Rekem’ as the Nabataeans called it, was ‘lost’ to the outside world for a thousand years until its rediscovery in 1812. The site is approached through a hairline crack in the mountain known as the Siq, emerging into the ancient city, where you are greeted by the breathtaking sight of the vestiges of long-forgotten kings and once a fabulously wealthy empire – a spectacle that is unequalled in the Middle East. This evening, see Petra by candlelight.
Day 4 Wadi Rum, arrive at the Dead Sea
Drive to Wadi Rum, where you will explore the spectacular red desert by jeep, then head north along the Desert Highway to the Dead Sea, which at 430m below sea level, is the lowest point on dry land on Earth.
ACCOMMODATION (2 nights)
Sapphire: Movenpick Resort & Spa (Classic Sea View room)
Diamond: Kempinski Ishtar Spa & Resort (Ishtar Superior Room)
Day 5 Dead Sea
At leisure by the Dead Sea. Here you may experience the unique sensation of floating cork-like in its waters, indulge in spa treatments, and benefit from the region’s special dry climate with its weakened ultraviolet radiation and high oxygen content.
Day 6 Mar Saba, Bethlehem, arrive Jerusalem
Drive to the Allenby Bridge and cross to the West Bank with VIP assistance. Then, drive through the barren hills of the Judean desert to Bethlehem via the spectacularly located monastery of Mar Saba. See the Shepherds’ Fields (Beit Sahur), where the angel Gabriel announced the birth of Jesus. After a Palestinian lunch, visit the Church of the Nativity where you will see the grotto where Christ is said to have been born, and wander through Bethlehem’s Old Quarter. View the street art on the Security Fence, including work by the British street artist Banksy, before driving to Jerusalem.
