Tour Overview
CAIRO • LUXOR • NILE CRUISE • ASWAN • ABU SIMBEL • LAKE NASSER CRUISE
Grand Tour of Egypt is a once-in-a-lifetime private journey through the land of the pharaohs that reveals the country’s greatest archaeological and scenic wonders and combines a Nile cruise through the lush exotic landscapes of Upper Egypt with a Lake Nasser cruise through the striking wilderness of Nubia.
This unforgettable and sensibly paced tour starts in Cairo, where you will discover the Great Pyramid and Sphinx at Giza and gaze at the mighty Stepped Pyramid of Saqqara. Then, take an immersive stroll through the pulsing bazaars of medieval Cairo and see the purpose-built Mummies Hall at the Museum of Egyptian Civilisation. Before flying south to Luxor, tour the Grand Egyptian Museum, where among the 100,000 artefacts spanning 3,000 years of Egyptian history, you’ll find the full tomb collection of King Tutankhamun. Then, after a day of relaxing by the Nile (or engaging in further sightseeing), you’ll be welcomed aboard your Nile cruise. The next four days are dedicated to exploring the astonishing ancient temples and tombs that line the Nile between Luxor and Aswan.
Memories of glorious sunsets and the scenic palm-lined banks of the Nile will mingle with special meals on the deck and the pleasures of a refreshing cocktail at the bar. There will also be time to relax on the shaded sundeck in the warm Egyptian sun, take a dip in the onboard pool, chat with new friends, and enjoy the nightly entertainment before your Nile cruise concludes in Aswan. Then, fly to Abu Simbel, where you’ll see the magnificent rock-hewn temples of Ramses II and board the Omar Al Khayam for the next stage of your journey – a three-night Lake Nasser cruise visiting the little-known antiquities of Nubia.
The Lake Nasser cruise ends in Aswan, where the Grand Tour of Egypt then concludes, with time at leisure to relax and enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery in Egypt.
