Tour Overview

KATHMANDU • KURINTAR • THE ANNAPURNA FOOTHILLS • LOWER MUSTANG • POKHARA

The Annapurna and Lower Mustang walking holiday in Nepal is based at some of Nepal’s finest mountain lodges. It reveals two distinct areas of the Himalaya: the lush scenery of the Annapurna foothills and remote Lower Mustang – known as the ‘desert in the sky’. As the journey unfolds, you’ll behold the spectacular 8,000m-plus peaks of the Annapurnas and the Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri mountain ranges. Your hiking commences with a scenic three-night journey along the Annapurna foothills trail through a lush landscape of terraced farmlands, colourful villages and rhododendron forests.

As you continue by jeep towards Jomsom, the terrain changes dramatically as you near Lower Mustang, characterised by a barren desertscape dotted with austere Buddhist monasteries. In Lower Mustang, you’ll set off on scenic day hikes along historic caravan routes, discover the Tibetan culture of the Forbidden Kingdom of Lo, and behold the lunar-like landscape of Kagbeni.
