Abu Dhabi & The Empty Quarter is a relaxing luxury tour combining a beach holiday with a cultural twist and a stylish desert adventure amongst the breathtaking dunes of the world’s largest sand desert. With its miles of stunning beaches, elegant Arabian architecture, sweeping sand sea, magnificent cultural attractions, and opulent hotels, the once laid-back Abu Dhabi has become a distinguished world-class destination for visitors within the space of a generation – and is fast becoming a hub for the arts.
This Arabian journey starts with a four-night stay by the beach at a luxury beach hotel. A full day privately guided tour of Abu Dhabi will reveal the city’s architectural landmarks including the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Mosque (an architectural masterpiece sometimes likened to the Taj Mahal), the opulent Qasr Al Watan Palace, dhow harbour and date souq. You’ll also have a self-guided visit to The Louvre Abu Dhabi where the amazing galleries are almost outshone by the 21st architectural masterpiece of Jean Nouvel. After a leisure day by the Arabian Gulf, a two-hour drive will then take you into the startlingly beautiful world of the Rub al Khali (Empty Quarter) desert. Here, in the largest sandy desert on the planet, your base for the next three nights will be the luxurious Anantara Qasr Al Sarab, an Arabian Nights-style ‘fantasy’.
While staying in Abu Dhabi’s Empty Quarter, there is a wide range of optional desert activities, including; falconry, 4WD drives, desert walks, and mountain biking. Alternatively, choose to relax and unwind, visit the Anantara spa, swim, and enjoy the magical and ever-changing landscapes from the comfort of your room.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Abu Dhabi, UAE
Land at Abu Dhabi International Airport under your own arrangements (If you would like a quotation for international flights, please ask us). On arrival, you will be met. A privately chauffeured transfer will then transfer you to your chosen Abu Dhabi hotel.

Day 2 Abu Dhabi
Start your privately guided tour of Abu Dhabi, the largest and richest emirate in the UAE, at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque – an architectural masterpiece. Then, drive along the city’s beautiful skyscraper-lined corniche to the Founder’s Memorial – a monument dedicated to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan the first President of the United Arab Emirates. After a photo stop at the opulent Emirates Palace hotel, you’ll join a tour of the exquisitely crafted Qasr Al Watan. The day concludes with a drive past the whitewashed Qasr Al Hosn fort and visits to Abu Dhabi’s dhow harbour and date market.
Day 3 Abu Dhabi
Visit The Louvre Abu Dhabi, an exquisitely designed museum designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel. Described as a ‘symphony in concrete’ this incredible building cost over US$1 billion to build and houses a jaw-dropping collection of art. The afternoon will be at leisure.
Day 4 Abu Dhabi
Today will be at leisure to relax and enjoy the facilities, fine sandy beach, and panoramic sea views. Alternatively, visit the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital, play a round of golf, see Ferrari World, take a tour of the Abu Dhabi F1 racetrack, or discover Yas Waterworld.
Day 5 Arrive Empty Quarter
This afternoon, you will be driven to your luxury resort in the stunning Rub al Khali (Empty Quarter) desert to experience the romance of Arabia. The Empty Quarter is the largest sand sea on the planet, with dunes soaring up to 300m in height. Sunsets and the stars at night are unforgettable.

A day at leisure to relax among the magnificent desert scenery on the doorstep of the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara.
Day 8 Farewell to Abu Dhabi
Transfer to Abu Dhabi International Airport and check in for your onward flight.
