Villa Hundira

Set amongst two acres of lush tropical gardens and overlooking the Negombo Lagoon, Villa Hundira is an affordable, boutique-style hotel with a warm, home-spun atmosphere.

It is ideal for couples as well as families to spend a night either on arrival or prior to departure. Designed by a Swedish architect and his Sri Lankan wife, an artist, Villa Hundira’s rustic décor blends traditional motifs, including art and sculptures from Sri Lanka and the Orient, with modern minimalism and comforts. Accommodation comprises five rooms and a suite in the main villa and two more rooms on the upper floor of the owner’s villa.

The individually designed, air-conditioned rooms and suites feature high ceilings and large picture windows offering views of the lagoon or the gardens and are decorated with an eclectic mix of old and new furniture. The spacious suite is ideal for families as this consists of two ensuite bedrooms with an open-plan living and dining space and a private terrace offering lagoon views. Guests staying in the upper-floor rooms of the owner’s villa have access to the dining and living room overlooking the lagoon.

At Villa Hundira, authentic Sri Lankan and Continental cuisine is offered, and meals are served on the verandah or the main dining room. Other facilities include a swimming pool, and Ayurvedic massages can be arranged on request.
