Vardzia Resort Hotel

Vardzia Resort Hotel has a stunning natural setting in the hills of southern Georgia, just across the Mtkvari River from the famous medieval Vardzia cave complex. Set amidst peaceful landscaped gardens featuring hammocks, pergolas, and waterfalls, Vardzia Resort has an eye-catching infinity-edge swimming pool offering wonderful views over Vardzia’s caves.

It is one of our favourite hotels in Georgia. Each of the resort’s 27 spacious ensuite rooms has a balcony and is air-conditioned/heated. Rooms all feature Wi-Fi access, flat-screen televisions, bathrobes and slippers and face either the rear or front of the building. We recommend upgrading to one of the front rooms within audible distance of the soothing sound of the rushing Mtkvari river below and with panoramic views overlooking the medieval site.

Vardzia Resort’s cosy restaurant specialises in serving regional Meskhetian delicacies, while the Café-Bar has a good range of wines and lovely mountain views from the outside terrace. Guest facilities include a games room with a billiards table, an outdoor swimming pool and a small children’s pool. At the spa, guests can enjoy a sauna, Jacuzzi or a relaxing massage. Vardzia Resort makes an excellent base from which to explore southern Georgia but is also perfect as a destination should you wish to relax and enjoy the views and clear mountain air.
