On the shores of Lake Sevan
Tufenkian Avan Marak Tsapatagh Hotel is located on the beautiful undeveloped eastern shore of Lake Sevan. It boasts stunning mountain views and alluring vistas over the shimmering blue surface of Armenia’s largest body of water. This lovely rural location is ideal if you want to experience the Armenian countryside or wish to break the journey between northern and southern Armenia.
Designed in a rustic farmhouse style, the Tufenkian Avan Marak Tsapatagh has an attractive interior featuring exposed walls of Armenian stone and colourful hand-made Armenian carpets. The 34 simple ensuite rooms are compact and don’t have views, but there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the stunning scenery when relaxing by the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool and in the wild gardens. Additional guest facilities at the property include a hot tub, sauna, and table tennis table. The Tufenkian’s Zanzan restaurant is a 20-minute walk away and serves excellent Armenian regional cuisine that includes Sevan trout.
Prospective guests should be aware that the hotel doesn’t have direct access to Lake Sevan, and there is a walk of about 500 metres through the small village between the hotel and its restaurant. Tufenkian Avan Marak Tsapatagh is open seasonally between 15 April to 20 October.
