Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge

Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge is a simple, rustic-style yet sophisticated jungle lodge and is undoubtedly the place for wildlife enthusiasts. This delightful lodge enjoys a tranquil setting along the Narayani River.

It is part of the highly acclaimed Tiger Tops group, which introduced responsible wildlife tourism in Nepal in the 1960s and set up Nepal’s first wildlife camp in the jungles of Chitwan before it was declared a protected National Park.

Built using local materials, Tiger Tops is designed to resemble the longhouse-style Tharu village houses and overlooks the lush Terai landscapes. The lodge offers 12 simple yet tastefully furnished rooms and nine safari tents. All rooms and tents feature private ensuite bathrooms with solar-heated water and a ceiling fan.

The tents are more suitable for those seeking a more intimate wildlife experience, as they are close to an elephant camp, where resident elephants are corralled for the night. Guests choosing to stay in a safari tent will be able to follow the daily routine of the herd as well as feed and bathe these gentle giants.

The lodge grows its own vegetables, and tasty meals are served al fresco under the shade of a mango tree or on your veranda. Between safaris, guests can take a dip in the swimming pool, enjoy a game of tennis or relax in a hammock with a book.

With superb staff, excellent naturalists, and tailor-made activities, including safaris by jeep, boat, and elephant back, as well as on foot and bullock cart rides through nearby Tharu villages, Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge offers some of the best wildlife as well as immersive experiences.
