The View Hotel

Located on the slopes of Jabal Shams mountain at an altitude of 1,400 metres, the aptly named The View Oman is tucked away in a scenic valley and offers magnificent panoramas over the surrounding countryside.

The View is reached via an unmade winding 7.5km road, and its wonderfully isolated location makes it the perfect place to unwind for a day or two or to serve as a starting point for exploring the Jabal Shams area.

The View Oman has 30 comfortable valley-facing rooms, all with balconies, tea/coffee-making facilities, heat/cool air-conditioners, television, and bathrooms with rain showers. Superior rooms have partial valley views, whereas Premier rooms are slightly larger individual units located on the rocks and have the best panoramic views.

The View’s restaurant serves a mixture of Arabic and International dishes. The lovely outside terrace is ideal for relaxing and drinking in the beautiful mountain scenery in the late afternoon. Taking a dip in The View’s temperature-controlled infinity-edge swimming pool is another attractive option. In the evenings, wooden campfires are lit.

They are the perfect place to congregate while sharing stories of the day’s adventures and admiring the shimmering lights of distant Al Hamra village far down in the valley below.

Activities available (by advance request) at The View include mountain biking and hiking in the surrounding area, cultural tours, and even a donkey safari!
