Charming boutique hotel in the walled city

The House of MG and its two annexes are undoubtedly ‘the’ place to stay in the historic walled city of Ahmedabad. This stately heritage property was originally built in 1924 and was the private residence of a textile trader. Here, Mahatma Gandhi stayed on his return from South Africa in 1917.

Converted into a charming boutique hotel – this is a delightful property that has been superbly brought up to date to meet the essential needs of modern-day travellers, while the hotel’s original features have been thoughtfully restored to ensure the hotel retains its old-world charm. The main hotel is spread over three floors and offers accommodation in 38 individually decorated rooms and suites with a homely ambience, while two annexes feature six and two rooms and are about a mile away from the main building.

At The House of MG, delicious, authentic Gujarati cuisine is served at their main restaurant, while the Café offers Gujarati and a selection of Indian vegetarian and Continental cuisine. Other facilities include an indoor swimming pool, a small gym, a spa and a gallery showcasing traditional textiles.
