Talayar Valley Bungalow

Talayar Valley Bungalow is an old planter’s residence on 2,500 acres of a working tea estate surrounded by rolling hills carpeted with lush tea gardens. This lovingly restored 19th-century bungalow has been brought up-to-date to meet the needs of modern-day travellers and has four spacious rooms and suites, a cosy living room with fireplace and sofas, and a cigar room. Each room and suite opens onto the garden and is individually decorated with warm tones and furnished using period-style furniture to create an old-world ambience.

Dining at Talayar Valley Bungalow is tailored to your tastes and features Indian and continental cuisine. Guests may dine in the formal indoor dining room or the gardens. Talayar Valley Bungalow offers guests a variety of guided walking trails through the surrounding tea estates and mountains, as well as a unique ‘Tea Manufacturing Workshop’ experience where you will pluck ‘two leaves and a bud’ alongside the tea pickers and then carry the basket with tea leaves to the factory; observe first-hand the various processes and return the following day to the factory to collect your own tea bags processed using tea leaves that you picked the previous day.

It must be noted that friendly locals from the community staff the hotel, and while they are courteous and eager to meet guests’ requirements, they are not professionally trained. Hence, service levels at the Talayar Valley Bungalow are not the same as elsewhere.
