Fixed camp among magnificent towering red dunes
Souly Lodge Empty Quarter is set amongst magnificent towering red dunes on the edge of the Ramlat Hashmann. It is the first (and only) fixed camp in Oman’s Rub al-Khali, about four hours north of Salalah.
While at Souly Lodge Empty Quarter, you can enjoy the wrap-around desert panoramas, dine al fresco under star-studded skies, and swim in the sulphur water outdoor swimming pool. The lodge has four air-conditioned bungalows and ten spacious tents (non-a/c).
Each bungalow and tent has a private sit-out and an ensuite bathroom equipped with W/C, washbasin and shower.
The standard of accommodation at Souly Lodge Empty Quarter must be considered basic, but in terms of comfort levels, it represents a significant upgrade from wild camping, which is the only other possibility in Oman if you wish to explore the Rub al-Khali. Note that alcohol is not served at the camp.
