Rooms Hotel Kazbegi has put the High Caucasus firmly on the map as a ‘must-see’ destination for the sophisticated traveller. A former Soviet sanatorium turned boutique hotel, Rooms Hotel Kazbegi is the inspiration of two young Tbilisi designers and is set among some of Georgia’s most spectacular mountain scenery. This sleek, modern geometric structure has a polished hipster vibe. It is built from steel, glass, and timber and blends discreetly into the surrounding landscape. Floor-to-ceiling windows keep the interior and exterior visually linked, while the use of raw natural materials, local carpets, bookshelves, and fireplaces within the building creates a mountain hotel-style environment.

A stunning wrap-around sun terrace is a focal point of the property and offers spectacular mountain views. The hotel’s 155 rustic-chic ensuite rooms combine wood with industrial flourishes and face either Mount Kazbek or have views of the Stepantsminda forest and rocks.

Standard rooms (23 sqm) have bathrooms with rain showers, inviting armchairs and private balconies. In comparison, the more spacious Signature rooms (33 to 38 sqm) feature stylish leather Ottomans at the foot of the bed and spacious vintage wardrobes. A negative is inadequate soundproofing. Rooms Hotel Kazbegi offers guests a choice of traditional Georgian or international cuisine at its excellent restaurant and a cosy bar with a fireplace.
