Rainforest

The Rainforest is a small, contemporary-style resort nestled amongst thick forests on the edge of the Sholayar Forest Reserve and overlooking the incredible Athirapally Falls. The nine rooms are spread over three floors built on terraces supported by beams and columns. Each room is elegantly furnished in a minimalist style and combines simple décor with colour to create a warm ambience. All rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing guests to take in the glorious views of the waterfalls. The aesthetically designed air-cooled rustic tree house offers a spectacular bird’s eye view of the roaring waterfalls (between September and February) and the surrounding forests, while the two-bedroom cottage is set away from the main building and offers greater privacy but restricted views of the waterfall.

Local and international cuisine is served in the main restaurant looking out at the falls. Rainforest also offers residents an outdoor pool. Guests staying at the Rainforest Boutique Hotel can enjoy a number of treks, including one to the foot of the waterfalls and a walking safari through the Sholayar forest range that offers the possibility to spot bison, wild boar, loris and giant Malabar squirrels in their natural habitat.
