The Postcard Velha

The Postcard Velha is a stylish boutique hotel in Old Goa that has drawn inspiration from the distinct architectural traditions of Old Portuguese mansions. Perched on a hillock within the lush Champakali Estate, this tranquil retreat is surrounded by swaying coconut palms and offers distant views of the Mandovi River Delta. Designed to relive the gracious lifestyle of the Portuguese aristocratic families, the ambience is more like a home away from home experience than a hotel.

Accommodation is in eight rooms spread among two villas (Mandovi Vlla and Banyan Villa) set in delightful sloping gardens. All rooms feature high ceilings and large picture windows with a terrace or balcony. While the rooms at the Banyan Villa overlook the lush gardens and the 300-year-old Banyan Tree, the Mandovi Villa rooms offer panoramic views of the Mandovi River Delta. It must also be noted that rooms on the upper floor of Mandovi Villa provide better views. The light and airy rooms are tastefully decorated using period-style furniture, hand-woven fabrics and colourful rugs. Amenities include a luxurious bathroom with eco-friendly toiletries and a safe, but rooms do not have a television or minibar.

Sumptuous Goan and International cuisine is served at one of the scenic pavilions overlooking the Zuari River. Still, there are no set meal times and as long as staff are given advance notice, guests have the choice to have it at a time that is convenient to them.
