Khem Villas

Khem Villas is a charming colonial-style wildlife lodge set amongst 20 acres of scented gardens dotted with flowering plants, mature trees and water-bodies with resident crocodiles. Owned and managed by a family renowned within the wildlife community for their conservation efforts and sustainable tourism ethos, Khem Villas is located bordering Ranthambore National Park and is only a short drive from the main entrance to the reserve.

Accommodation is in simple yet chic cottages, traditional-style tents and modest yet comfortable rooms within the main building. The independent Luxury Cottages are set within a private walled garden and are elegantly decorated with teakwood furniture and delicate fabrics sourced from Jaipur. Each cottage has a private courtyard, an outdoor bath and a private veranda offering sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness. The Superior, Luxury and Deluxe Tents are pitched on a wooden platform, tucked away amongst the lush gardens, and comfortably furnished in a minimalist style. Each tent features a private veranda that looks out onto the wildlife reserve and is complete with an ensuite bathroom created from natural materials. The Standard Rooms at Khem Villas are part of the main building and are only ever recommended if someone is seeking an affordable alternative. While the Cottages and Rooms are air-conditioned, the Tents are fan-cooled and can become uncomfortably hot during summer.

The airy dining room serves sumptuous vegetarian-only cuisine, and the set menu features Indian and a selection of international delicacies. Within the main building, just below the rooms, is a library and a small bar serving fresh juices, chilled beers and Indian wine. In the evenings, the hosts join the resident guests for drinks around the campfire to exchange stories and share their wildlife experiences. Leisure facilities at Khem Villas include a small outdoor pool and a spa offering Ayurvedic massages.
