Jetwing Vil Uyana

Jetwing Vil Uyana is a high-end, award-winning, eco-friendly resort set in the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. Inspired by the conservation work of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), Vil Uyana’s owners transformed 24 acres in Sri Lanka’s dry zone into a lovely wetland reserve featuring accommodation in spacious chalets on stilts with butler service.

The distinctive chalets combine traditional design with modern amenities and minimalist style. Paddy Dwellings are situated within organically farmed paddy fields, while Water Dwellings are constructed over a man-made lake, and rustic Marsh Dwellings overlook scrubland. Surrounded by complete wilderness, the exclusive Forest Dwellings have a separate sleeping area, a living area, a dining room, a private plunge pool, and an open-to-sky garden shower. All chalets at Jetwing Vil Uyana have a private deck and the use of bicycles, but it should be noted that not all rooms have a private plunge pool.

A fine dining restaurant caters to guests’ culinary well-being, while imported wines and spirits are available from the Bar. Leisure facilities include an outdoor pool and spa. Jetwing Vil Uyana’s in-house naturalist conducts nature walks, including a birding trail where over 50 different types of bird species can be found during the season.
