Character-rich royal residence

Jambughoda Palace is a simple yet character-rich royal residence and is the home of Maharana Vikramsinh ji. Originally built over 200 years ago, the main building has evolved over the years, and today, it showcases influences of Art Deco style and traditional Gujarati motifs. Sensitively transformed into a heritage-style homestay, the accommodation comprises rooms and suites within the main palace and spacious cottages, which have been recently built and are set in the gardens. The four simply furnished rooms and suites, which occupy one wing of the Jambughoda Palace, retain their old-world charm and have a sense of place, while the 20 air-conditioned cottages sport a more modern outlook and feature a private veranda.

At Jambughoda Palace, meals are served in the palace’s main dining room, and the food is usually a blend of local tribal flavours, with influences from Gujarat and the family’s ancestral home in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. Leisure facilities on offer include an outdoor pool, and activities on offer include a visit to the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, as well as guided nature, walks through the Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to over 100 species of birds as well as four-horned antelope and the elusive panther.
