Delightful colonial-style boutique hotel

The Eighth Bastion is a delightful boutique hotel combining contemporary style with the Dutch colonial heritage, evident in the furnishings sporting the legendary VOC logo, nautical paintings, and antique reproductions inspired by furniture once found on Dutch Schooners.

Located in the heart of Fort Cochin, the hotel offers 19 rooms elegantly decorated in minimalist style and comfortably furnished with essential modern conveniences (no television, though). The rooms open onto a patio or balcony overlooking the Arabian Sea or the central courtyard. While some rooms have sunken bathtubs, others have rain showers.

Guests staying at Eighth Bastion are treated to modern Asian fusion cuisine at the East Indies restaurant, next to the cosy lounge facing the courtyard and the pool. Leisure facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, and in-house guests can borrow bicycles to discover the colonial heritage of Fort Cochin. Eighth Bastion does not currently have an alcohol licence, but you are welcome to bring your own and will not be charged for corkage.
