Dar Benti

Dar Benti is a traditional Tunisian house in the heart of Monastir’s medina, just a five-minute walk from the city’s marina and the beach. A labour of love of its architect owner that was eight years in the making, Dar Benti successfully combines modern and traditional styles and has been finished with exquisite taste.

The result is one of Tunisia’s most aesthetically pleasing boutique hotels and a charming guesthouse where guests receive a warm and friendly welcome. When you enter the property, you’ll be struck by the polished interiors and original architectural features.

The beauty of the carved wood doors, Moorish arches, elaborate ironwork, colourful tiles, and fine plaster stucco engraving is a testimony to the owners’ care when restoring what was originally two separate houses. Accommodation at Dar Benti is in five beautifully appointed guestrooms set around an interior courtyard. All rooms are air-conditioned and have internet access.

It should be noted that the marble bathrooms do not have doors. An unexpected highlight of Dar Benti is its magnificent outdoor rooftop swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Guests can also enjoy the sun terrace and traditional hammam. The hotel provides a tasty breakfast every morning but doesn’t offer lunch or dinner. Several good external dining options are available within easy walking distance.
