Remote tented camp with Himalayan views

Located at an altitude of 3,800m just below Bumdra Monastery, Bumdra Mobile Tented Camp looks out over sublime Himalayan scenery and is reached after several hours of hiking along a trail that some claim to be the most beautiful short trek in Bhutan.

Ideal for the visitor who is looking for a taste of the outdoors without committing themselves to anything that remotely approaches an expedition, the two days/one-night Bumdra Trek is of moderate difficulty and offers, as its great prize, the opportunity to descend towards Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery) from above rather than trudge uphill on the usual tourist trail from the valley floor.

Tents, cooking equipment and supplies are all carried by ponies making the going much easier and enabling you to take your time and enjoy the views and sights along the way.

Despite the remote fairy tale location, the Bumdra Mobile Tented Camp is surprisingly comfortable and consists of dome tents (with camp beds, proper bedding and soft pillows), a dining tent and a separate loo tent.

A bonfire at night and a hearty evening meal complete this magical experience.
