Baghvan - A Taj Safari Lodge

Located within a ten-minute drive of the entrance to Pench National Park, Baghvan offers a rustic yet luxurious jungle experience that combines the exceptional hospitality of Taj hotels with the excellence of &Beyond trained naturalists.

Accommodation is in 12 stand-alone suites, each one of which overlooks a picturesque dry riverbed (nullah) and has a personal butler in attendance. Suites have the feel of a distinctive 1950s bungalow and are wonderfully quirky. The elegantly appointed sitting rooms have high ceilings with whirling fans and open onto a spacious shaded outside deck. Stairs lead up to a machan (covered jungle rooftop platform) from where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the jungle – a wonderful place to relax after a game drive!

Food is always a highlight at Baghvan. Breakfast and lunches are served on a shaded deck surrounding the beautiful swimming pool (alternatively, lunch platters can be delivered to your suite). Afternoon tea is provided before you set off on your afternoon game drive, and then there are cocktails to whet your appetite before dinner on your return. Twice daily game drives into the park are included for all guests at Baghvan. It’s also possible to take nature walks in the buffer zone, enjoy birding from the pool deck, and visit Pench’s park elephants and mahouts at Alikatta village. Other facilities include a boutique and a well-stocked library.
