Bab Samhan, A Luxury Collection Hotel, is a centrepiece of Riyadh’s Diriyah Gate giga project that offers visitors to the Saudi capital an enticing accommodation option within a heritage-style building.

Inspired by the magical mudbrick architecture of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Diriyah, Bab Samhan combines timeless elegance with modern luxury and has been crafted to perfection. Entry is via heavy studded wooden doors painted with Nadji geometric designs that open onto a peaceful hidden world of courtyards, running water channels, olive trees and winding lanes (Sekahs).

Bab Samhan’s 134 spacious and exquisitely designed rooms are located either on the ground floor or first floor and spread between several buildings. Rooms face either toward the hotel’s Sekahs, courtyards or the wadi. Within each luxurious guestroom, exquisite architectural details adorn the walls and complement the exposed traditional Jareed ceilings made from palm wood and fronds. It must be noted that natural light within the guestrooms is limited due to the insistence of the owners that the architects accurately replicate historical forms. For this reason, we recommend booking a room on the first floor – all of which have skylights in addition to small windows.
