The Arthaus Beirut

Arthaus Beirut is a beautiful boutique hotel that is discreetly tucked away in the old bohemian neighbourhood of Gemmayze. Built on the grounds of a Roman villa, the property’s twenty-five suites and bedrooms span four architecturally distinctive buildings. Once the home of the owners, Zoe and Nabil Debs, the buildings have been restored to pay homage to their deep-rooted heritage.

Arthaus Beirut fuses 19th-century Ottoman design with an eclectic and contemporary flair. Art is at the heart of the Arthaus experience, which houses much of the owner’s private art collection of multi-media pieces, fine art, archaeological artefacts, rare books and an extensive collection of Roman mosaics.

The gardens, with their sandstone terraces and partially shaded (seasonal) swimming pool, are ideal spaces to relax and enjoy the Mediterranean climate. Guests may choose to dine al fresco in the garden or in the restaurant where the menu changes with the seasons.
