Amanwella

Amanwella has an outstanding reputation for luxury and is an ultra-chic, all-suite resort set amongst 37 acres of swaying coconut palms that gently slide down to the Indian Ocean. Located alongside a beautiful crescent-shaped beach in the fishing town of Tangalle on Sri Lanka’s south coast, Amanwella is designed in a minimalist style, with wide corridors, airy pavilions and al fresco platforms that offer sweeping views of the crashing sea.

Each of the 30 luxuriously appointed suites is similar in style and design and has a private plunge pool. Pool Suites occupy the higher slopes along the hillside, are stacked in clusters of three (with a shared outdoor terrace) and predominantly overlook the coconut groves. A relatively steep climb is required to reach the Pool Suites from either the beach or the restaurant, although tuk-tuks operated by the resort provide shuttle transfers.

Ocean Pool Suites are located in close proximity to the ocean and have wonderful sea views. Dining at Amanwella is always a treat, and guests can choose to enjoy Asian and Mediterranean cuisine at either the main restaurant overlooking the pool or at the Beach Club by the seaside.
