Tunisia Journey Planner
Four or five days in Tunisia
Make the most of a short stay in Tunisia by basing yourself in Tunis or nearby Sidi Bou Said and exploring the Tunisian capital’s stunning medina along with the ruins of ancient Carthage – once home to the legendary general Hannibal – and the stunning Bardo Museum. Day excursions could take you to see fine Roman sites at Dougga or the amphitheatre at El Djem.
One week to ten days in Tunisia
One week will give you a good introduction to the Roman ruins, olive groves, and fine medieval medinas of northern Tunisia. With more time could explore in more depth or include some time by the sea. With ten days you could explore desert, oases, and Star Wars locations in south Tunisia, or create an introductory tour combining both the north and south.
Two weeks to three weeks in Tunisia
For a comprehensive, unhurried tour of Tunisia that combines both the northern, central and southern parts of the country you’ll need about three weeks. Two weeks is about the right duration for a well-paced tour of both northern and southern Tunisia or for an in-depth look at northern Tunisia’s cultural attractions.
