Oman Journey Planner

Three to five days in Oman
Muscat will be your base on a short visit to Oman. In addition to discovering the capital’s attractions, choose between spending time at one of the beach hotels, and taking day excursions into the interior. Visit the castles and oases on the Batinah coast, go off-roading in the mountains, snorkel in the Damaniyat islands, wander through the cultural centre of Nizwa, or discover the Wahiba Sands.

One week to ten days in Oman
With a week at your disposal combine the main cultural and scenic highlights of northern Oman (Muscat, Nizwa, the Jabal Akhdar, Wahiba Sands) with time to relax on the coast. Adjust the weighting of the itinerary in favour of sightseeing if you aren’t a beach person. A ten-day trip will enable you to explore in more depth, add on a side excursion to Musandam or Salalah, or spend longer by the sea. Second-time visitors might want to discuss a trip dedicated to the southern province of Dhofar.

Two weeks to three weeks in Oman
For a comprehensive tour of Oman extend your journey around the northern Sultanate to include a dhow cruise from the exclave of Musandam province on the Straits of Hormuz and discover the southern province of Dhofar where you’ll be able to venture into the Rub Al Khali (Empty Quarter). An overland journey with wild camping from Salalah to Muscat via the coastal road and the remote locations of Wadi Shuwaymiyyah, Ras Madrakah, Khalouf, Barr Al Hickmann and Masirah Island could also be possible.
