Israel Journey Planner

Four to five days in Israel
On a short break in Israel choose either the holy city of Jerusalem or vibrant Tel Aviv as your base. Jerusalem is Israel’s great ‘must-see’ attraction and could easily occupy a day or two. Then, combine a visit to Herod the Great’s rock-fortress of Masada with floating in the Dead Sea. A long day trip to the north will take you to Nazareth and the Galilee where you can see the sites associated with Christ’s early ministry.

One week in Israel
An ideal duration for an introductory tour that will reveal the country’s main highlights. After exploring Jerusalem and visiting Masada, the Dead Sea and Bethlehem, travel via Nazareth into the green and hilly Galilee to see the Christian sites and the mystical Jewish town of Safed. Then, travel down Israel’s north coast via Akko, Haifa, and Caesarea to Tel Aviv where the journey concludes.

Ten days to two weeks in Israel
Delve deeper into Israel’s attractions. Jerusalem (old and new) alone can easily command a five-night stay. Spending three (or more) nights in northern Israel would enable you to include the Golan Heights and perhaps have a night in the picturesque city of Akko. Two or three days could also be dedicated to exploring the ‘heart of the Holyland’ – the ancient towns and sites of the West Bank that include Jericho, Hebron and Nablus. To the south, the great Negev desert is an adventure playground, while both Eilat on the Red Sea and Tel Aviv on the Mediterranean offer beaches and nightlife.
