Start your tour in Kolkata, where you will discover echoes of the British Raj, including the Victoria Memorial and the Charnock Mausoleum, before exploring the riverside towns of Serampore, Chandannagar and Chinsura that reveal West Bengal’s often-overlooked colonial history. Then, fly to Bagdogra and drive to Darjeeling where you’ll spend three nights in a beautifully converted planters bungalow set amidst the lofty Himalaya. In Darjeeling, relive the gracious lifestyle of colonial-era planters and enjoy a scenic ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway to the Ghoom monastery, which overlooks mighty Mt.
