Tour Overview
JERASH • PETRA • WADI RUM • DEAD SEA
On the Petra and The Dead Sea private tour, you’ll see the breathtaking ruins of ancient Petra both by day and by candlelight, walk through the collonaded streets of Jerash – one of the finest Roman cities in the Middle East and have a 4WD adventure in the red desert of Wadi Rum, then have four nights to unwind by the Dead Sea at the region’s top resort. Here, at the lowest point on Earth above sea level, you may experience the unique sensation of floating cork-like in the saline waters, indulge in an extensive range of special Dead Sea spa treatments, enjoy the region’s dry climate with its weakened ultraviolet radiation and high oxygen content, or simply sit back and immerse yourself in a good book. The Petra and Dead Sea tour is privately chauffeured throughout.

Day 3 Petra, Petra by Candlelight
A full day to discover the rock-hewn ruins of ancient Petra, Jordan’s foremost tourist attraction. Once the capital of the Nabataean Arabs who controlled the lucrative trade routes between Arabia and the Mediterranean coast, Petra or ‘Rekem’ as the Nabataeans called it, was ‘lost’ to the outside world for a thousand years until its rediscovery in 1812. The site is approached through a hairline crack in the mountain known as the Siq, and on emerging into the ancient city, you are greeted by the breathtaking sight of the vestiges of long-forgotten kings and once a fabulously wealthy empire – a spectacle that is unequalled in the Middle East. This evening experience the unforgettable spectacle of Petra by Candlelight (operates Monday, Wednesday and Thursday only).
Day 4 Wadi Rum, arrive at the Dead Sea
Drive to Wadi Rum and explore the spectacular desert landscape by jeep, then travel north to the Dead Sea, which at 430m below sea level, is the lowest point on dry land on Earth. On arrival, check in at the region’s best hotel.
